Scholarship
The Milal Mission has a scholarship program called "Milal Scholarship" for supporting the students
with disabilities who are in the difficult economic situation. The Committee of Milal Scholarship was
established on October 15th 2001. On January 4, 2002, the first award ceremony was held to present 15
people with scholarships that totaled $54,000. In October of 2003, more people were awarded with
scholarships with the focus on their contribution to the community. In 2010 and 2011, we had provided a
total of $171,600 and $139,200 each. In 2012, Milal Mission offer $168,400 to the 96 students, which
reside in the United States, South Korea and some other countries. The total accumulated amounts of
scholarship from 2001 to 2017 is $2,097,000. The scholarship is funded by the proceeds from Milal
Night. Your donation is also much appreciated.
Every year around September or October, Milal Mission holds an annual event called "Milal Night". The event showcases talented performers and inspirational speakers who have not just overcome but learned to embrace the challenges of living with disabilities. All of the fund raised, 100%, is handed out as a scholarship each year. Up to date, we have raised and handed out over 2 million dollars. Over 5,000 people in Southern California attend the event every year.
Sign Language
Sign language classes are provided to serve those with hearing impairments. Several local churches are
operating this program under the supervision of our professional teachers.
Monthly Magazine
A monthly magazine is published through the collaborative efforts of branches of The America Milal
Mission in the Western Region of the United. 20,000 copies of the magazine is published and
distributed every month to churches, members, interested individuals, and sponsors.
Sign Language Praise Team
Milal Sign Language Praise Team boasts a membership over 50 dedicated individuals. All praise team
members have completed Elementary Sign Language classes. The team develops new sign language
songs and performs at various churches and Milal events throughout the year.
Sign Language Dance Team
The Sign Language Dance Team is comprised of young volunteers in high school and college. The team
incorporates sign language with choreographed dance routines helping to spread Milal's message to the
younger generation.
Church Visitations
Three or four times per month, Milal Mission visits local churches to share their testimony, perform
praise songs in Sign Language, and inform the congregation of the programs that are available
through the Milal Mission in Southern California.
Festival AGAPE
On the first Saturdays of May and December, the America Milal Mission in Southern California
collaborates with 32 local churches to create a day of fun and enjoyment for individuals with
disabilities. Hundreds of volunteers work together to organize a carnival in May, complete with rides
and various booths. The December Festival is a semi-formal banquet and dance party attended by
over 1000 individuals.
Camp AGAPE
Late June or early July of every year, the Milal Mission branches located in Vancouver, Seattle,
Northern California, and Southern California come together for Camp AGAPE. Camp AGAPE gives
individuals with disabilities a chance to make wonderful memories throughout 2 nights and 3 days
with their 1:1 aides.
